Faith is a gift I have yet to receive.
All compasses point towards different directions. People like me; we have no compass, and we can only sail where the wind wills.
Yet we share the same desires, we have the same passions. We tell ourselves no, we deny our inclinations. But what separates us is this: what you would call the devil, what they would call free will, and what I would call meta-cognition, asks me the question I will never find myself answering:
Why not?
When the eyes are a window to one's soul, one's soul is left vulnerable upon awakening. I have not the confidence I had in ages past, and I cannot look at another without feeling the intense risk of being understood. Its tragic, but there are parts of me best not understood.
Hence, regarding people like me, the closer one is, the farther one is going to get.
You see, people like me.
We have no moral judgment.
We have no compass.
We have no friends.
